MiraGreen works by utilizing small molecular weight proteins, in conjuction with other components, which break through the biofilm barrier that bacteria, urin, feces, vomit, etc. create.  These biofilms are formed by bacteria as a nutrient as well as to protect themselves from outside envioronmentally threatening factors.  Most cleaners cannot attack or have a great deal of difficulty pennetrating these biofilms.  Most cleaners clean around these biofilms thereby not eliminating the source of the odor.  

You will notice with most cleaners, the odor reappears shortly after cleaning.  MiraGreen actually penetrates and eliminates these biofilm, eliminating a source of nutrients for bacteria as well as the source of the odor without the use of toxic components.
